Two out of three users (66.25%) perceived taking MVM as being beneficial for normal immune functioning, a slightly lower number (63.25%) felt that supplementation gave them confidence in maintaining their overall health, and more than half (59.75%) believed that their metabolism had improved.
The findings came from an online questionnaire involving 400 consumers aged 35 to 60 staying in Taiwan.
The respondents were also existing users of Centrum Advance or Centrum Silver, including both men’s and women’s variants, at least three times weekly in the three months prior to answering the questionnaire. Centrum is also a supplement brand by Haleon, and individuals who used other supplement brands were excluded from the study.
Over half (59.25%) of the respondents were daily users of MVM supplements, while 40.75% were occasional users.
Writing in the Journal of Health, Population, and Nutrition, the research paper authors from Haleon, IQVIA Solutions, and WNS Global Services wrote that the findings reflected real-world usage of MVM supplements, bridging the gap between controlled trial outcomes and actual consumer experiences.
“Real-world evidence bridges the gap between controlled trial outcomes and actual consumer experiences, offering valuable insights into product utility,” the researchers wrote.
They added that since the survey respondents bought and used MVM supplements on their own without any third-party intervention or prescription, the results can be considered “neutral and unbiased.”
What were the perceived benefits?
Findings showed that most respondents perceived that taking supplements had improved their immunity, metabolism, and overall health.
Using the Immune Status Questionnaire (ISQ), 66.25% reported having a normal immune functioning after taking MVM.
The ISQ measures perceived immunity status based on the frequency of immune-related complaints experienced, including sudden high fever, diarrhea, headache, common cold, and coughing. The total ISQ score is 10.
An ISQ score of six and above indicates perceived normal immune functioning, while a score of below six indicates reduced immune functioning.
In the same vein, 67% strongly agreed or agreed that their body defense had improved while taking MVM supplements.
On the other hand, 59.75% of them had either strongly agreed or agreed that metabolism had improved with MVM supplements.
Notably, the perceived benefit for metabolic health was higher among men (65.17%) than in women (54.27%).
As for overall health, 63.25% had either strongly agreed or agreed that taking just one MVM pill daily gave them the confidence to maintain overall health.
Other commonly perceived benefits
The other commonly perceived benefits of MVM intake include better skin complexion and energy support.
Nearly two in three (59%) strongly agreed or agreed that MVM intake gave them energy to better perform everyday tasks, and over half (53.25%) reported improved overall skin complexion.
In terms of energy support, half (50.50%) reported having more energy for sports and training.
When it comes to specific skin health areas, 38% perceived that the skin looked “better”, while 36.25% perceived that the skin looked “healthier” when taking MVM supplements.
Individuals aged 50 and above were also more likely to perceive MVM as beneficial for skin than those below 50 years old (60.14% vs 49.42%).
Sleep and mental alertness were the other parameters measured for the perceived benefits of taking MVM.
In this case, 57.50% strongly agreed or agreed that they woke up feeling more energetic, while 45.75% strongly agreed or agreed that they could pay more attention to their daily tasks with MVM use.
Overall, users’ perception of MVM was positive, with over 70% expressing satisfaction, trust, and a willingness to repurchase.

The most common reason for supplement intake was for nutritional support, as stated by 68.25% of the respondents, with immune support (60.25%) and overall health support (55.25%) as the other top two reasons.
This was followed by improving physical health (43.25%) and the foundation of body health (43%).
Improving metabolism was the sixth most common reason for supplement intake, as stated by 31.75% of respondents, ahead of increasing energy levels (28.25%), improving sleep quality or falling asleep (21.75%), improving work performance (19.50%), and coping with stress (16.50%).
