– Acme Smoked Fish Corporation CEO Eduardo Carbajosa has announced that he will retire at the end of 2025 and the company’s Chief People & Sustainability Officer Rob Synder has been appointed incoming CEO effective 1 January 2026.
Carbajosa joined Acme in 2007 as Chief Financial Officer, rising to the role of President in 2020 and CEO in 2024. The company said in a release that Eduardo played an instrumental role in steering the company through transformative growth.
“[Carbajosa] has helped guide Acme through meaningful growth and positioned the company for a strong future,” Acme Board Chairman David Caslow, a member of the company’s founding family, said. “As we look ahead, we’re thrilled to welcome Rob as our next CEO. His values, industry knowledge, and people-first leadership style make him the ideal person to lead us into the next chapter.”
Synder, a twenty year veteran of the seafood, sustainability, and organizational development sectors thanked the Caslow family for the opportunity to lead the company.
“I’m excited to build on the strong foundation that Eduardo established, and to draw on the culture and passion of teammates across Acme as we continue growing the most respected ready-to-eat seafood company in the world,” he said.
– Norway-headquartered maritime service supplier Trident Aqua Services has announced the appointment of Arild Aasmyr as its new Chief Executive.
Aasmyr was formerly the CEO of aquaculture services organization FSV Group, which merged with Aquaship and Intership in May 2025 to launch Trident Aqua Services. The new organization is now operational across three continents, with a combined fleet of more than 60 vessels and over 1000 employees.
Aasmyr takes over for Ole-Peter Brandal, who led Intership since its founding and played a key role in the formation of Trident. Brandal, the company said, will remain active within Trident Aqua Services as a Director and Consultant.
– Seafish Chief Executive Marcus Coleman announced he will leave the Edinburgh, Scotland-based seafood sector advocacy group at the end of 2025 for another CEO position.
“I have had the enormous privilege to work alongside dedicated and committed colleagues who wholeheartedly believe in the U.K. seafood industry and work tirelessly using their knowledge and expertise to support the sector in all its different constituent parts,” said Coleman, who thanked the Seafish board and his executive team for their support while he was in the role.
In a press release announcing Coleman’s departure, the organization said that Coleman had seen U.K. seafood businesses through the challenges of Brexit, Covid, and geopolitical unrest.
Board Chairman Mike Sheldon said that Coleman had “ensured that the highest standards of corporate governance have been upheld at Seafish while also being a great champion for the seafood sector. His contribution is widely appreciated and I thank him for his service and wish him well in his new role.”
Seafish said it will begin the search for a successor soon.
– Sean Sloan has been named the new Managing Director of the Canberra, Australia-based Fisheries Research and Development Corporation (FRDC).
In announcing Sloan’s appointment, FRDC Chair Dr. Elizabeth Woods said that Sloan’s 25 year tenure in natural resource management, fisheries and aquaculture management, and research made him the right person for the role.
“Strategically, the organisation is on the right path,” said Woods. “Sean’s global experience will be instrumental in delivering on the ambitions of FRDC’s newly launched Research, Development and Extension (RD&E) Plan 2025-30 Delivering Impact Through Collaboration which sets a bold direction for FRDC’s work with our fishing and aquaculture sectors, researchers, government partners and the broader Australian community.”
Woods also thanked the organization’s outgoing Managing Director, Dr. Patrick Hone, saying that Hone’s “vision and stewardship have positioned FRDC as a globally respected research organisation and we thank him for the incredible contribution he’s made to Australian fishing and aquaculture during his 30 years’ service with FRDC.”
